Giannis Seintoulas

Luthier

Giannis Seintoulas was born in 1984. At the age of eight, he moved with his family to Athens. He began classical guitar lessons with Michalis Sourvinos, who in 2010 introduced him to the luthier Pavlos Gypas. From their very first meeting, he decided that he wanted to become a Classical Guitar maker.
He completed his apprenticeship and continued alongside Pavlos, building several guitars, resulting in a rich and excellent experience in building professional-level instruments and in teaching the way of building.
In 2015, he set up his own workshop where he builds guitars for each of his clients individually and according to their needs, while at the same time teaching guitar making lessons. The lessons continue to this day and are aimed at everyone as they are adapted to the needs and time of each person, such as group lessons, individual lessons, intensive lessons, weekend lessons and afternoon lessons.

Since 2017, he has been collaborating with elementary schools, private schools and conservatories, organizing excursions and a series of instrument building seminars for all ages.
Since 2019, he has been collaborating with the Lifelong Learning Center “Askardamykti” in the instrument building department, teaching Classical and Folk guitar building.
In 2023, he began collaborating with some of his students, after they completed their courses and wanted to become luthiers, with the aim of making handmade student-economic guitars, a category of instruments that is difficult to find on the market and he succeeded with great success by creating the FourTone group.

He took part in many festivals in Greece, Germany, Italy, Albania, Bosnia, Serbia, etc. as a sponsor of the 1st prize of the competitions in the major categories without age limit.
His guitars are made in the traditional way (Fan Bracing), also known as the Spanish way. Inspired by a series of leading manufacturers such as Pavlos Gypas, Dominique Field, Daniel Friedrich, Paco Santiago Marin, Herman Hauser, Santo Hernandez and the characteristic of his own details, he managed to achieve a special timbre in his guitars. He always focuses on the Classical guitar and at the same time builds Romantic, Octave (one octave higher), 7-string Classical, Folk and 8-string Acoustic guitars (first 2 double strings).
For the varnishes he uses the technique of French Polishing Shellac and two-component polyurethane wood.
He always prefers the best quality woods to achieve the best result, sonically and aesthetically.

The guitars of Giannis are known for the quality of their sound, a warm sound with depth, a colorful palette of clean notes across the entire surface of the fretboard, the excellent balance between the low, mid and low frequencies and the duration of the notes. They are also characterized by their responsiveness and easy playing. He always builds one or two guitars at a time to give the necessary attention to each one and adapt them to the needs of each player.

They are also known and played worldwide by soloists, students, teachers and amateurs who love this amazing instrument called “GUITARA” in Greece, Germany, Albania, Italy, Kosovo, Bosnia, Brussels, Serbia.

In 2025, he created the multi-workspace Π3,14 an open and collaborative space that brings together students, creators and organizations with the aim of collective learning and creation. He made a part of the space fully equipped for those who want to create but lack the space and tools. The idea and implementation of the space were based on the need for an environment where knowledge, art and technical experience coexist vividly and equally.

. The space functions as a workshop, meeting point and creative community, promoting collectivity, innovation and experiential education.
